This days we drove from 5am to 3pm, so it was a quite long drive, but actually it was great fun, we listened to good music, and played games like mini playback show, and an wheet-bix eating contest. After we arrived in Yulara (Town near ULURU) and checked in our camp, we went to the red rock to see the sunset. Before I saw ULURU I couldn'd imagina why we are driving thousands of km only to see a piece of rock in the desert, but this stone is magical. Firstly it is unbelievable big, it is an monolith (one stone) and it goes 7 km into the earth's crust. And secondly the pics can only indicate, how beatiful this stone is while the sun sets. The way back to Yulara was the starting point for 2 days of party. After Kate made 4 donuts on the car park of ULURU with this long bus+trailer, we had a great way back with disco light, music and dancing in the gangway. Back in Yulara we prepared a bbq and a fire, and after some other guys joined us, because their groups were shit, we had a great n8t, sleeping underneath the stars.
On the next morning we went to see ULURU at sunrise which was even more impressive than the sunset, because you saw the stripe of the rising sun, wandering down ULURU until the rock was purpur orange.
After walking around ULURU, which was a 3.5 h walk (9km) we went to see Kata Tutja (Olgas), which is another rock formation near ULURU consisting of several stone, not of one stone like ULURU. Because some guys (me included) had a nice hangover from last n8t, the wlks were really good to forget about the annoying head ache =)
Afterwards we went to Kings Canyon, which was a 4 h drive, and set up a camp with fire place. On of the American girls (Shannon) had a great idea to do a talent show in the evening. That was such a great idea, because all the other groups in the camp joined us, so that we were about 60 people wathing some idiots performing funny crap. it was so hilarious. Charlie and me performed a sing-along time after time, which was great fun. After this we slowly went to bed about 2 am (sleep-in til 7 next morning!!) watching the most beautiful sky full of stars I've ever seen. After breakfast and packing our stuff next morning we went to...
