Flying in to Queenstown is a beautiful thing, I can only recommend it to anyone visiting NZ. You get a first impression of the Southern Alps with the white mountain tips that change into the smaller mountains and end up in hills in Queenstown. With the plane descending at the mountains get smaller you have a constant low height above them, beautiful!
