Hey there,
what i have done the last weeks....
I think the first thing i?ve to tell is... Humpi had a accident. He has fallen off a horse. Usually he is a good horse rider, but when you had a few beers.... Actually it didn?t look too bad, but in the end he dislocated his elbow and bruised a vein.
Good work, Humpi:)
He had to go to Perth, because the Newman hospital hasn?t got the facilities to help him. That means that i had to look after the station! He showed me everything important, like the generator, when the power goes off, the different water taps for the house, lawn, horse paddock...
I wasn?t really concerned to be on my own. I spend already a while at station and know the most things.
I brought himto the airport and went back to the station. I wasn?t allowed to leave the station so i decided to clean everything i could find, cars, house, the truck,...
When he came back we went together to bore runs, fixed fences and whatever we had to do. He said what i have to do and i did it. I haven?t learned so many thing in such a short time before. I think he was sometimes really bored, but for me was it the best thing what could happen:)
For me it was a quiet relax time till we find out that Humpi lost a important paper from the hospital. Because he hasn?t enough patient to talk to the office i had to do it. That was great fun...Of course, NOT?
In the end i had a woman on the phone whose English was more worth than my. That?s not really helpful. It took me a week at the phone to sell it out. Of course, it was as well the week which we masted the last yards.
That means... i got up at 3.30am, went in the yard, did yard work, came back at 2pm and went on the phone, started cooking dinner, cleaning,...And this for a week. After the lazy weeks before this was quiet exhausting!
But we finished the mastering and Humpi had to go for a second time to Perth and i was on my own again, huhu:)
First of all i took a day off and slept for a while:)
I just hoped that he will come back for Christmas. I didn?t want to be on my own for Christmas. But he came back and we went to Brent and Rachel. That was a weird experience to spend Christmas with 42 degrees.
Here in Australia it is quiet similar to America. They celebrate the 25th as well. In the morning you get the presents. I got something as well. A pink, leather stubby holder!!! Yes, Rachel got me the right present:) few friends came along for lunch. Lunch means BBQ, seafood, snacks... It?s the same like in Germany....LOTS OF FOOD!!!!
In the end we celebrate till the early morning:)
t was really nice, but i didn?t feel like Christmas with 42 degrees:)
We went back to Kumarina and took a day off to get sober again:)
The next event was New Year?s Eve. I was hoping that we?ll go to town...
We wanted to go to Jules and Leon but then the pump broke.....
We went to a bore run in the morning to check if the cattle has water before we go to town. At mice (a yard 2 h drive away) we found the broke pump. This pump is a solar pump. Well, we had to check the float, the motor of the pump, the pump, the box where everything goes together... Sounds complicate, it is complicate!!!
We spend the whole day to work out want is wrong with the pump. In the end we had to change the box. The problem was that we hadn?t the same spare box. Well, we had to cut some wire and connect the solar panel with the new box...
In the end it was too late to go to town:)
ut few friends came along and we had a good night. Honestly, i was quiet tired anyway and was glad when Humpi decided to stay at the station.
Now it was time to have a look where i want to go next:)
I got my second visa and now i can do whatever i want?))))
I?ll go back to Perth at the 17th and then make a trip to Margaret River:)
Next report is following soon...
Big hug
