From Patagonia we headed straight up to Salta in Northern Argentina. Not much to Salta itself but does have some unusual buildings and the most amazing empanadas (small pastry things con queso, carne o pollo). It was great to spend a bit of time in the sun after the cold south and we kept up the outward bound lifestyle whitewater rafting, ziplining (sliding down massive cables across beautiful valleys and rivers) and horse riding. Horse riding not really one of my favourites although the eat and drink all you can bbq afterwards was a great with our fantastic Argentinian host, Enrique, who would only let me speak spanish to him...not an easy feat considering how lazy we have been about using our spanish...everyone in patagonia spoke English (well, nearly everyone!!)
