I always try to fit into the culture in order to get to know it a little better, instead of having an tourist outside view. Of course this is not as easy as booking the ticket for the trip. However, it is mostly details, that make the big difference. I learned, for instance, that most toursit don't wear earrings, except they are going out at night. Well, that was a good hint. And I have to say, there where less people talking to me in english or trying to sell me something after that. One more thing I noticed, is how cuban woman carry themselfes. They always walk with their backs straight and their shoulders back. The head is carried high, but not with a nose pointing upwards. They walk like they are proud to be cuban. Amazing and not very easy to copy.
