Today was a great day.
After a nearly 4hrs journey south to Brisbane did I check in at City Backpackers. A really cool hostel and because I booked directly 2 weeks I just had to pay 20$/night, a really good deeal ;) So I'll stay at least the next two weeks here :P
My roommates are forst time not German!! Wuhuuu :) They are from Canada, Mexico, France, Sweden and Ireland. So a mixed group but all stay here for longer so we will become a little family and they are all so nice and friendly and the first question they asked when I came in was: "Who wants some weed?" :D :D So funny :D
Because I arrived at 11:30 I went down to Brisbanes South Bank. I park along the river, very cool and with a lots of galleries and museums I'll plan to visi during the next 14 days. Nearly at the end there is a huge lagoon, very cool and so beautful. After a little walk over a pedestrian bridge did I arrive at the botanic gardens. That was really cool because they were so huge and beautiful, lots of red, yellow, orange, purple, white and blue flowers..... I love it :) A perfect place to relax. The most advantage is that it is still 5mins to the CBD so I found a Subway really quick on my way back to hostel.
Back in hostel I met an other guy who arrived with me via AIFS in Sydney. 'That's crazy :D After a little talk did we go down to South Bank again because there should be a fantastic lightshow. Very amazing :) Before the show started came a nice young girl to us and asked us some questions about the Brisbane Festival and the lightshow and she told us that "Santos" (main sponsor) is australia's biggest gascompany and they sponsored the whole festival. We were a bit surprised because that festival is not a tipical one sponsored by a gasccompany, but okay - cool ;) We went down again to the Botanic Gardens and had a look at them during night what was a bit scary because on the middle of the way sat a spider, maybe as big as my hand and we decided both to pass as fast as possible :D But we came back healthy and are still alive, not attacked :)
So my first impression of Brisbane: I love it so much :) But maybe it is a bit influenced by the fact that it is still saturday :D
Doesn't matter: Brisbane is still awesome!!!!! :)
