The past 4 days were sometimes very magical.
We arrived on Saturday and were surprised. The X-Base Hostel is located directly at the beach with an own gate to the beach. Moreover there is a big disco area and large terraces with comfortable seats. First we thought there would be a great party during night because everybody called it party hostel but the guests did not come out by 9 or 10 to make party. Just a few so we sat down on a big round table. A few mins later came two guys to our table, a Canadian (Curtis) and a German (Lucas). We had a lot of fun. And suddenly around 11pm there were a lot of people at our table because we made the party xD After a talk to two Australian guys I understood why there is no big party: It is the only party bar all over the Island. That?s why most guests stay in their rooms because there are weird and crazy men from the Island. Maybe guests are afraid of them ? who knows?! :D Fact is that we had a lot of fun.
The next day was the best day. Curtis rent a SUV so we 5 party people drove around the Island (maybe 20km from west to east/north). After we stopped at a bottle shop we drove to a beautiful beach where we all drank a little bit and went into the ocean. It was amazing because there were waves around 2 meter high. An hour before sunset we arrived at West Point. That is a lonely beach at the end of 12km of off-road track. Besides the track was nothing but untouched nature. Awesome!! And at the beach were nobody but us so it was a very romantic atmosphere. We waited for sunset and then came THE moment. The first sunset I?ve seen in Australia and it was so awesome, beautiful, romantic and magic. And we were able to see the stars just 15mins later. I love this nature! Later that evening we sat again at our round table and again there were so many funny people. Especially two guys made the party special: An old man, totally drunken, with crazy hair worse than Einstein and a funny voice. He always took one word from our conversation and started to talk nonsense about that word very loud :D And the other one was a young fat girl that was so drunken that she danced all over the terraces, tables and dancing area and she came over to our table, talked so friendly and funny with everyone and asked each where from except Lisa and Lucas, who were cuddling a bit. She just went over to them and said: ?Oh I see, you?re from the city of love? :D :D We had to laugh so long. And Curtis got the right words for her: ?Carina, I will call my children Carina, doesn?t matter if girl or boy. What a beautiful human being!? :D That Canadian man got always the right words :D
On the third day I just lay under the sun for 5 hrs without becoming red and created a video about my first 20 days. And today was boring because it was windy, cloudy and still boring :D So we are happy to leave tomorrow.
The funny thing is: Curtis and Lucas left yesterday and will take the same Greyhound bus to Airlie Beach we will take so we will see them again for the next days. But on Friday we will go on a 3 days sailing trip around the Whitsundays Islands.
