rain and storm

12.January 2011 - Burnie

After breakfast we headed to Strahan, a little village near the sea. We strolled along the "Esplanade" and visited the Woodworks. A "Saegerei" were they carve the local wood and there s also a shop were you can buy beautiful things made of wood.
Later we drove further to Zeehan and Rosebery, little towns where you feel your live a few decades back - just right now in the mining century.
The further drive wasn't very pleasant. It rained heavily and there were also strong winds/stroms.
Initially we wanted to go to Stanley to see The Nut - a big round rock, but when we reached Burnie we discovered (while drinking our Mc Cafe) that the rain and storm will be increase and that they have flood warnings (but it's not at all that serious as the Queensland flood).
So we decided to stay in Burnie and I got again a quite cheap Hotel room (Chrissy wanted to sleep in the car, but I just needed a bed and a place to chill - want else would you do when it s just pouring down und der Wind dir den Regen ins Gesicht peitscht. Da hoert es bei mir beim Sparen auf)
Later she came in too :-))
