After getting a few last information from the visitor centre we got our car.
It turned out to be quite old - a Ford Festive not even with central locking. But it made a sound when you leave the head lights on (yes Katrin it did :-) - so I was happy!)
And I also found some details in the contract which he didn't say to me before, but after thinking about it I calmed down again - because it may have happened to me/us before - the only difference was: I didn't see it because I didn't understand (language) the contracts as I do now.
So then we headed off and I have to say that the car was really nice to drive. Later we also discovered that it didn't need too much petrol. On tank for around 500 km (@Katrin no thats not bad because one tank was just 28 liters - so around 35 Dollars).
After shopping we left the city to go to the Mt. Field national park. During our 2 hours walk we saw the huge "tall trees", some waterfalls and beautiful forest land with heaps of ferns.
Then we drove further to the lake Pedder, but couldn't reach the lake because it would have been to late to go back again.
We then looked for a place to stay and decided to sleep in the car.

Not really a pleasure and if I can I avoid it I try not to do it too often again.
