After a two hours drive we reached Turangi and foun a nice backpack to stay.
We did the famous Tongariro crossing, it was an 8 hours walk up to 1976 meters the weather was perfect for hiking but on the summit it was a little bit cold and to windy.
We saw a few spots from the lord of the ring movie.
We had some lunch at a lake under the red crater. We were glad when we arrived at the end because it was exhausting but it was worth it because it is one of the worlds best one day crossings.
We had a big bbq and a couple of beers we went to bed pretty early.
