Adventures in Heerlen

09.March 2013 - Heerlen

March 5th of 2013
Our day started early because we had to be at school at 9am. We woke up at 6.30, had breakfast and went to school by bus. We really enjoyed the trip because we could see different country. When we reached our destination girls who we live with gave us a tour around the school, which is interesting because it is totally different from our school, it is modern and new. We also met some of their friends. Teenagers are really friendly and tolerant here. One of the interesting thing is that they don?t have uniforms and can dress up like they want. When everybody gathered in the class we left for some challenging entertainment ? we had to risk our lives to survive in really hard conditions. My legs were shaking but I managed to climb in 10 meters height and survived. The main point of that entertainment ? two groups of people were competing with each other by answering some questions and working as a team. After a lunchtime we had a seminar of lecturer from Maastricht university, he represented his own business model and we had to work in groups to create our own business model. That was nice because we had opportunity to work with people from other countries and to learn something new from them. When our program of the day was finished our host family took us to the place where three countries ? Netherlands, Belgium and Germany are connected in one spot, then we had nice dinner with Luukes family at her place and her mother took us to one little town to hang out in really nice and cosy restaurant. We came back really tired but also excited. That is how our second day in this wonderful country finished. JONE from Lithuania
