Marhaba!
This is it, the very LAST post! Before getting home we decided to make a last stop in Abu Dhabi. First of all to make sure we would not have to fly a long distance in one day, and second of all because we were a bit curious to discover the United Arab Emirates and no better time than now. So we scheduled a stopover of 3 days.
We were lucky not to spend the time in the desert in summer; therefor the temperature was only between 35 and 39 degrees Celsius!! We should be used to these high temperatures by now, so why complain and since we will be home soon we might as well enjoy it.
We had a great hotel with a lovely rooftop pool, with a nice view of the city. We obviously took advantage of the pool on the second day after a long walk to the city. Just a bit of a shock when the building started shaking. Since no alcohol had been consumed, we soon enough were sure that this feeling was not just imagination. When we decided that maybe it would be saver to pack and leave, the pool boys started laughing and mentioned it would be just fine for us to stay where we were. ?Just a little earthquake madam, it?s okay?. Just a little weird and worrying when you are not used to it. Anyway the ?little earthquake? was over in a few minutes. At least we had another story to tell ;)
To bring our adventure to a great ending we decided to have some action and go on a desert safari. As a start our driver showed his abilities and the abilities of the 4-wheel-drive by ?dune bashing?, which is the exact word for the action we had. Truly bashing through the sand, giving us with an adrenaline rush. We visited a camel farm, were able to ride a camel, surf in the dunes, dress like the locals, had a nice barbecue in the desert while enjoying a belly dance show.
Before we knew it our 3 days were over and it was time to go HOME!! 15 unforgettable months have gone by, but we are ready to go home and start our new exciting future!
Thanks for reading our updates!
Greetings from Fatima and Ahmed ;)
