Recently Falko tested myMapBlog on a HTC Hero. This mobile phone runs Android, a OS from Google, and has an integrated flashPlayer, so the blogs and their maps can be browsed easily there.
Due to a neccessary update on the server some services were not avaiable during this day. Now (nearly) everything is running smooth again, it is not possible to flip images that have been uploaded before the 19th of july 2009.
If you encounter any problem, please let us know.
[Update: 24th of June]Flipping of images is working again.
I’ve been asked from time to time if there is a possibility to allow access to ones blog only for a certain usergroup. Today a beta of “private blogs” has started. In the ’settings’ menu chosse the register ‘account’ and switch your blog to private if you like, then you set up a visitor password. This password you’ve to mail around to your readers and they’ll be able to read your blog.
Private blogs do (currently) have the following restrictions: RSS-Feeds as well as email-newsletters are not supported and the alternative HTML-version (which is used for visitors without the flash-plugin) is not avaiable.
In case you have any questions or problems with this new feature don’t hesitate to contact us.
Since now you are able to set links to other websites in you blog. All you need to do is writing -or copying- the address in the Blogentry, URLs are recognized automatically and will be marked as a link.
Please make sure the address starts with http:// or https://links to an emailaddress can be set like this: mailto:email@domain.com.
It has been some time now since we started supplying RSS-Feeds
Now there is some new Feature that makes following a myBlog easier: mailing-lists.
That means a visitor of any myMapBlog can sign up his emailadress and will be informed for every new post in this blog. The Author of a new post can disable this feature at any time, so there won’t be an email going around for every chang of an existing story. The sending of mails is done with a queue, which is executed hourly, so don’t get impatient immediately
